Grasp Point Optimization for Unknown Object Manipulation in Hand Task
نویسندگان
چکیده
In order to realize in-hand manipulation of unknown objects, we introduce an extension to our previously developed manipulation framework, such that long manipulation sequences, involving finger regrasping, become feasible. To this end, we propose a novel feedback controller, which searches for locally optimal contact points (suitable for regrasping), employing an online exploration process on the unknown object surface. The method autonomously estimates and follows the gradient of a smooth objective function. More concretely, we propose to dynamically switch between manipulability and grasp stability depending on the grasp stability level. Physics-based simulation experiments involving artificial noise to model real-world sensor readings, prove the feasibility of our approach, rotating an object while multiply readjusting the grasp configuration with all fingers in turn.

Optimal Trajectory Planning of a Box Transporter Mobile Robot
This paper aims to discuss the requirements of safe and smooth trajectory planning of transporter mobile robots to perform non-prehensile object manipulation task. In non-prehensile approach, the robot and the object must keep their grasp-less contact during manipulation task. To this end, dynamic grasp concept is employed for a box manipulation task and corresponding conditions are obtained an...
متن کاملPassive Non-Prehensile Manipulation of a Specific Object on Predictable Helix Path Based on Mechanical Intelligence
Object manipulation techniques in robotics can be categorized in two major groups including manipulation with and without grasp. The aim of this paper is to develop an object manipulation method where in addition to being grasp-less, the manipulation task is done in a passive approach. In this method, linear and angular positions of the object are changed and its manipulation path is controlled...

This research focuses on proposing an optimal trajectory planning and control method of two link rigid-flexible manipulators (TLRFM) for Dynamic Object Manipulation (DOM) missions. For the first time, achievement of DOM task using a rotating one flexible link robot was taken into account in [20]. The authors do not aim to contribute on either trajectory tracking or vibration control of the End-...
متن کاملGrasp Planning & Force Computation for Dextrous Object Manipulation with Multi-finger Robot Hands
This paper deals with the problems of grasp planning and force computation that occur when objects have to be manipulated with dextrous multi-finger robot hands. Assuming that the initial contact points at the object surface are pre-selected, the joint motions to perform a desired operation according to a given object trajectory are determined. This is done under the consideration of the effect...
متن کاملGeometric In-Hand Regrasp Planning: Alternating Optimization of Finger Gaits and In-Grasp Manipulation
This paper explores the problem of autonomous, inhand regrasping–the problem of moving from an initial grasp on an object to a desired grasp using the dexterity of a robot’s fingers. We propose a planner for this problem which alternates between finger gaiting, and in-grasp manipulation. Finger gaiting enables the robot to move a single finger to a new contact location on the object, while the ...
